At PPH we think the importance in menswear lies in the details and accessories: ties for one. Our ties are a bit whimsical in the splashes of contrasting colors and the reverse bows (2 bows in 1). We think there is a movement happening in menswear – in the same sphere as slow, organic, local foods – people are hearkening to an earlier time when products were made with care and a discerning eye – and locally. Ties are back, not only with suits but with casual get-ups like a nice pair of jeans or cargos with an oxford. Pierrepont Hicks can best be described as RUGGED LUXURY.

J.W. Hulme Co, is a true rarity; over 100 years old and still carefully crafting distinctive leather and canvas bags and accessories 100% in the U.S.A. These unique handmade bags speak to a time when rugged American individualism was valued and people personally knew of someone who was a true artisan.

From the materials we choose to our time-honored techniques, J.W. Hulme Co.’s pledge is to produce exceptional, unique and valued products for discerning customers. Backed with a lifetime guarantee and unsurpassed customer service our commitment to quality is as real today as it was in 1905.

Our family company was started in 1964 by Bob Beckel here in Portland, Oregon. We create canvas tents, luggage, outhouses and horse packing equipment one at a time by local craftsmens. Our tents are made for each customer with options placed where they want. So almost no two tents are ever alike. We also create a number of custom luggage pieces and have a one of a kind tent created just by us, our “TT” tent is popular for the horse packer as well as the car camper.

At the Meet your maker show we will be debuting two new products available only through our small collection of wholesale accounts. They will be our new briefcase/laptop bag and the cube travel bag.

As the second generation, we strive to continue the high quality durable tents and luggage that have always made us stand out in the industry.

The idea behind creating Cause and Effect is to pay tribute to the past. I look back to my father and grandfather , men who fixed what broke and made what they needed. Their creations were meant to value function over for. Intended to last a lifetime they used what they had. We continue that today by creating the belt and the buckle sometimes out of raw materials and often out of found goods. To me every piece is alive and different. Pick up a belt try it on and remember the last time you made something.

“Blending is one of the most enjoyable and most creative parts of the winemaking process. In producing our Favia wines, which are very small production wines from highly coveted sites, we always end up with many blending components of all different varieties. Fitting these together like a puzzle creates Leviathan. It allows us to push the envelope, try new things, and have an outlet to give people something unique and, frankly, pretty damn delicious.”

-Andrew Erickson

Owned and vinified by Andy Erickson, Leviathan is a rich, full wine with
vibrant texture. Its complex flavors are derived from a unique blend which
highlights the best of California — carefully fine-tuned each vintage to create a bold, rich, enticing wine.  Though this uniquely blended wine is able to be cellared, it is intended to be consumed in its youth, showcasing its bright, fruit-driven character.

Since 1981 Saintsbury has been committed to demonstrating that world-class Pinot Noir is a California mainstay. The winery was founded by winemakers Dick Ward and David Graves who believe innovation and a critical look at vineyard, terroir and winemaking is the best route to quality.  Today with winemaker Jérôme Chéry, Saintsbury continues to pursue the “philosophy of investigation” that has helped make Saintsbury one of America’s foremost Pinot Noir producers.

Keplinger Wines is a boutique wine label launched by Helen Keplinger and Douglas Warner in 2006.  They are passionate about making small quantities of hand-crafted, single-vineyard wines from sustainably-farmed mountain vineyards that will take Rhone varietals to their full potential.  The 2007 Red Slope Grenache hails from rocky red soils on the top of the western ridge above Knights Valley.  Aromatically, it is tightly wound, with layers of wild strawberry, black cherry, jasmine, and herbs de Provence. Exotic spices follow as the wine opens – star anise, ginger, and cardamom are underlined by fine tannins and a silky, long finish. 195 cases produced.

“The guys at Scribe are leaders of a new generation of farmers and viticulturists.  When you look at the caliber of wines they are creating, the integrity to which they are restoring the 100 year old mission style hacienda, and the progressiveness of the brand they are creating, you begin to realize that these brothers are very ambitious and very capable.  Andrew and Adam Mariani have a very old-world philosophy when it comes to making wine: minimal intervention, the use of naturally occurring wild yeasts, and to produce grapes and wines that show a sense of place.  Looking into the future, you can expect some fantastically distinctive wines – wines that are thought out and well crafted, wines that require years of patience and the willingness to not cut corners, wines that completely express the conditions of the season’s weather, the soil and the health of the ecosystem they are raised in. Moreover, you can count on the Mariani brothers to be the headliners for a generation that uphold farmers and chefs as rock stars and expect nothing less than a menu complete with locally sourced ingredients and a wine list that piques interest, encourages adventure, and leaves that over-oaked mass-produced California Chardonnay nowhere to be found.”

In addition to building a renowned reputation for winegrowing, Lee Hudson devotes tremendous energy to several other projects on the ranch, building Hudson Vineyards into a diverse poly cultural operation. Titi’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil, named in memory of Lee’s mother, reflects years of careful tending to the trees and fruit before bottling.

The olive trees are spread throughout the ranch, providing soft borders around vineyards. Olives are hand picked in the cool of November, a fitting ending to the bustling vineyard season. The olives are locally pressed in Sonoma, unfiltered and bottled by our friends and family.

Taylor Stitch will be offering both their fully custom tailored shirts as well as partially debuting their new collection of button up shirts.

The guys at Taylor Stitch have recrafted the button up. They have done a couple things to make guys’ lives better. Things such as adding an 8th button to the front and a lower side saddle to allow for a shorter shirt overall making it able to be both tucked and untucked comfortably. They have also taken out any pleats both in the sleeve and in the back giving the shirts much cleaner lines as well as making them easy to iron, if that is your thing. We understand that guys do things on the run and can’t be bothered with the little unnecessary frills and like when form meets function. That is our main goal. Well that and sticking with amazing domestic manufacturing.

Wood is like a gemstone. It’s a precious, organic material that can be used for pedestrian, industrial purposes, or it can be carefully faceted, ground, and polished to reveal the greatest color, figure, and clarity. Unlike many gemstones though, wood is plentiful locally, and it can be joined in a structure to serve intimate human functions.
As a designer, I act as steward to this vital resource, seeking to honor it through my attention and skill as a craftsman, and also by composing it into simple, modern, intelligent forms that make the most and best use of it, while consuming the least necessary for function.

My process seeks always to minimize negative ecological impact by sourcing only domestic and mostly local and salvaged solid woods, and striving to use the least toxic finishes/adhesives.

Four Barrel will be selling coffee from their coffee cart during the event.  They are one of the premier artisanal coffee roasters of San Francisco.
